The final mixing session for Insectula! happened yesterday. That means we are done! Should get it back Wednesday and then send it off to make a DCP package. I would expect all materials around the 1st. There were still some last minute changes that are making everything great like creating the song for the end credits.

Thanks to all those who helped out by donating or posting for us. We are waiting for the score to be completed and then we will start the mix. Our expectations are that we will be finished in September. It's really a great movie and quite unlike anything that is out there, so it will be really exciting to see the reaction!

I just wanted to say I'm super glad we are close to the finish line, but this film is going to be awesome! It is EVERYTHING I imagined it would be. It's like the images came into my head and we were able to capture exactly what I was dreaming and put it onto film. That was the beauty of the CGI end of things, that whatever was impossible or too expensive to do in reality, I could do it with that. I do think this film is something very unique and I'm excited to see what happens with it!

Actually I'm not terribly enthralled with making practical FX, I can do them but I seem to enjoy doing VFX a bit more. Here are a couple shots that you can sense the party-like atmosphere...

Just an update on where we are. We are just waiting for the score and then will start the mix. We are close! We have picture lock and are just tweaking and cleaning up effects. The movie is great, really fun and it is everything I envisioned it to be. It will be worth the wait kiddies!

Yes, the wait is frustrating. Keep the faith, the movie will be stronger for it. There has been many unexpected issues that have slowed the progress on finalizing Insectula!, and no one has been more frustrated than I. But good things come to those who wait and I’m extremely happy with the results so far. Insectula! is exactly what I imagined it to be and I haven’t had to cut any corners even though I had to do things that I was hoping I could hand off all myself.
